Choosing Specialty Woods for Your Interior Shutters

Wood SamplesWhen you’re decorating in your home, whether it be from scratch in a new place, a complete remodel of an existing space, or just a refresh to update some of your long-time favorites, you want every detail to be just right. It’s hard to be satisfied with the final look of a room, one you’ve spent time and money to design, when you discover that you can’t find just the right pieces to finish it off. The custom space you’ve created can’t be truly customized. If you’ve ever experienced this, you know how frustrating it can be. Thankfully, this doesn’t have to be the case with your window treatments.

At Wasatch Shutter, we custom build each shutter to meet our customers’ individual needs. That means that we can help you get the perfect interior shutters to complement your home and your personal style. One of the ways we do this is by offering a variety of materials from which you can make your selections. While we’re confident that our most frequently used materials create a distinguished, quality product that will fill most of our customers’ needs, we understand that there are times when our customers want something a little more customized.

That’s why we offer our customers the option of choosing specialized woods for their projects. We’ve worked with a vast array of specialty woods, so when you need something truly custom, we’re the people for the job. Here are just a few of the specialty woods we’ve worked with to create the customized shutters our customers want.

Pine and Fir are perfect for a room that has a rustic, woodsy feel and would be ideal for any room that you want to feel like a mountain retreat. Mahogany, Cherry, and Walnut are dark hardwoods that convey a rich, warm feeling. They’re known for their distinctive grains and can be stained to match a prized piece of furniture or other prominent wood in you home.  Oak, Maple, and Hickory are other distinctive hardwoods in lighter colors that can be stained to complement your home in the same ways as the darker hardwoods.

Working with professional decorators and meeting with our design team will help you develop a plan for your room and determine the best materials and stain colors for your shutters. We’ll also help you determine which style of shutters will be the most complementary to the overall look and feel of your room. With more than a decade of experience in manufacturing customs shutters right here in Salt Lake City, you can be sure that you’ll be getting high-quality craftsmanship and installation while keeping your business local.
