15 Oct How to Clean and Care for Window Screens
Most homeowners make it a point to scrub both sides of their windows at least once or twice a year, but much fewer remember to care for the window screens as well. With the delicate nature of the screen, and the high amount of debris that can get caught in window screens, you might be wondering how to best clean your window screens and keep them looking and working perfectly. Here are some tips to maintaining the window screens around your home.
Remove Your Window Screens
Truly the most efficient way to clean both the front and back surfaces of your window screens thoroughly is to remove them from your windows. This process will, of course, vary depending on what type of windows you have, but today’s window manufacturers generally make the process very easy, and you can even do it from the inside of your home. Take extra caution as you do this, as you can easily damage your window screens if you try to remove them incorrectly. You’ll also want to label your window screens with masking tape and a permanent marker if you have windows of different sizes.
